It may be the depths of winter but Doug Nelson, Director of Golf at the Aspotogan Ridge Golf Course, is thinking back to the summer season. “We were absolutely happy with our first golf season,” he says. “Any comments we received were very positive about the quality of the golf course, especially how good our greens were.” Despite the short time to get the course up and running last year, after the Aspotogan Heritage Trust got involved in the operation of the facility, Nelson feels local golfers were not disappointed. According to Doug, some of the highlights of the season were the Grand Opening tournament in early July, Wednesday night Men’s nights as well as a n u m b e r o f community events and scrambles that were well received and attended. Doug also says “The golf was fun and the food was very good.” Looking forward to the 2019 season, Nelson promises some surprises as the Club will continue to hold monthly community events, along with monthly Friday nights “9 and Dine”.
